This book is so good that if I could I would have licked the pages! Very entertaining and fast-paced it kept on the edge of my seat. The characters almost seem real a mysterious woman shows up unexpectedly to meet and help her daughter through a hard time, but what the woman and her husband don't know is that her mother had done this several times before for at least a century. Hmmm...what is up with this strange woman that insist on everyone calling her Nana? Get this book you'll be glad you did!
I really enjoyed reading this book. I thought the main theme of the book was a great idea. I would have preferred more character development and Nana's true nature is not explained enough for me. I wanted to know more about her!
I had never read a Brandon Massey novel before but will buy more of his now. Monica loses the grandmother that raised her after her mother abandoned her. At the funeral her mother appears, turns on the charm and is invited to stay with Monica and her family. Monica is so happy to get to know her mother and the family is also at first. As Monica gets sick and sicker while her mother gets more vibrant and youthful, Monica's husband investigates the mother and gets more suspicious. In the very horrific end, he finally helps his wife to fight off her mother. Very tense.
This book was FANTASTIC. It was like watching a movie. Grabbed my attention from page one and refused to let go. I'm a big fan of Brandon Massey's work, and this has to be one of my favorites of his books (second only to Within the Shadows) . He sure knows how to spin a tale. I love my Nana, but this was a whole different Nana on some other level. No one needs a Nana like this! No sir. No ma'am. It is definitely one of the best stories I've read all year. Well worth the read!
I knew nothing less from this author, this read will hold you draw you into this wicked women and her crafty ways manipulation. MONICA wanting the desire to have a mother blinded her until a so call dream wasnt a dream at all. 5 Stars and guessing The Seven Sisters have a tale spill as well. Job well done Brandon Massey, keep'em coming.....your literary pen game hasnt lost a beat.
The opening had my attention up until Troy met his wife's father, inquisitive about Graces history. After that, everything was Rushed & didn't make sense. Good writing to start. But failed pass midway.I was happy to reach the end. Very disappointed in the author's writing lately. This is truly one forgettable story in my book.
What a story! Scary, fast-paced and exciting! I couldn't put it down! Brandon Massey does it again. He weaves a scary tale, full of turns, taking you right to the edge of your seat! I enjoyed every moment of this tale. And I highly recommend this book - it's a great read! I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as I did.
This was a truly terrifying story. At a time of devastating sadness and loss a woman is given the chance to finally meet the mother she never knew. What a blessing,right? Or maybe not. Follow along as things get stranger and more frightening with every passing day.Excellent story. Well told with great characters, some of whom will give you nightmares.
